Developer Poised To Join The Mardis Gras Mood In Market Harborough

With plans for this year’s bigger and better Market Harborough Carnival well under way, house builder Linden Homes Midlands is poised to get in the Mardis Gras mood!

Around 20 colourful floats, live music, a trade village selling artisan crafts and lots of refreshment outlets are among the many attractions planned for this June’s extravaganza.

And brand new for 2018 is a children’s marquee, which Linden Homes Midlands is helping to support through an offer of sponsorship.

The development is currently showcasing a range of family homes at Ashton Rise in the desirable Lubenham Hill area of the town.

Sales manager Gary Cranfield said: “We understand that this Carnival is a major annual event for the town and that this year, some new committee members are involved in giving it something of a makeover, with new attractions geared towards keeping younger members of the family entertained.

“With this is mind, coupled with the fact we are building family homes in the town, it seemed like the ideal opportunity for us to lend our support in some small way.”

Carnival president Paul Milligan added: “We are very grateful to Linden Homes for its support of what’s shaping up to be a fantastic Carnival with many new and improved elements happening for the first time this year. One such aspect is a children’s marquee, which we are introducing, and without Linden Homes’ support, wouldn’t be happening. With many activities such as face painting, crafting and musical play taking part, it’s a place for children to join in the fun with their parents and other family members, and really get into the Carnival mood!”

The Carnival itself takes place on Saturday, June 9 and offers fun for the whole family – starting with a parade of carnival floats including the winner of the newly launched “Harborough Hero”, bands and entertainer through the town centre.
