Cashback For East Hampshire Homeowners
02 Mar 2016

House hunters looking for a new property along the south coast or towards Surrey, may be forgiven for overlooking a gem of a location nestled along the southern end of the A3 corridor. This East Hampshire patch is comprised of quaint villages and convenient towns whilst benefitting from sitting centrally to the South Downs National Park. It will be surprising then, that property prices in this area are often seen as extremely good value for money, especially when compared with neighbouring Surrey.

And it’s not only property prices that are lower than other nearby areas.

Those moving into the East Hampshire District could also benefit from a cut in council tax, further to discussions by the local council. East Hampshire District Council are currently discussing cutting council tax by two percent, which will see Band D property owners paying just £134.58 for their council tax with further plans to reduce this to zero in the coming years.

This pretty area is perfectly positioned giving easy access to main towns and cities including Portsmouth to the south, Petersfield and Guildford to the north and Southampton and Brighton to the West and East.

Opportunities to benefit from this idyllic location, are available, but they come far and few between. Reputable housebuilder, Linden Homes has a number of new developments peppered around this location offering properties for every type of buyer. But there are only a few properties remaining, so interested buyers will need to move quickly to invest in this convenient spot.

One of these collections of homes is situated extremely close to where the A3 and A27 meet, in the form of Hawthorn Mews in Bedhampton. Here there are a number of homes available including one and two bedroom apartments through to three, four and five-bedroom houses. The homes here are modern and designed with the young professional and family market in mind. The townhouse style gives plentiful space for hosting friends and family whilst the space guaranteed gives home buyers enviable value for money compared to properties in other areas.

The Old Brewery has just three apartments remaining in The Brew House – the converted Gales Brewery building in the pretty village of Horndean. Both with two bedrooms, these apartments are found on the first and second floor of this iconic building and one comes with two parking spaces.

Finally, moving up to Clanfield, The Landons has been an extremely popular development since launch, so much so that there is only one property remaining here for sale. ‘The Leith’ is an exceptionally spacious two-bedroom detached house and offers the perfect property for downsizers or professionals who want the space to live and work and from home. The master bedroom comes with an en-suite for extra convenience. The dining room downstairs is a separate room so could double up as a home office.

Susan Whiting, marketing manager at Linden Homes, commented: “East Hampshire often gets overlooked when people are doing their property searches. But once people come down and see what they can get for their money, they are astounded at the space and number of bedrooms they can get compared to other places along the south coast. There are only a few homes remaining so we’d urge interested buyers to come and view them before they get snapped up.”

For further cost savings, all of the houses available in these collections are available on the Help to Buy scheme. Using this government backed incentive, buyers can secure a brand new property from Linden Homes with just a five percent deposit, whilst benefiting from an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the property value, which is interest-free for five years. Home buyers are just required to secure a mortgage for the remaining 75 percent of the home value.
