Getting married and moving home are arguably two of the most stressful experiences in life.
But one Whetstone couple and their children did them both within a few weeks of each other – and are now settling into married and family life at Linden Homes Midlands’ Trinity Brook development.
For Kevin and Suzanne Dakin, it was a smooth move when deciding to upsize to the popular Leicestershire development – after buying a fully furnished show home.
Residential education and care worker Kevin (37) and his new bride (34) are now settling into their brand new spacious and beautifully decorated family home.
The couple live with their two teenage daughters, four-year-old son and pet dog Tommy, after Suzanne admits to ‘falling in love’ with the show home during an early visit to the development.
So, with an overseas wedding, a UK reception to finalise, a house to sell and a new one to move into – it was to the Dakin’s delight that Linden Homes offered to lend a hand.
Suzanne, a contracts business and finance analyst, explained: “To be honest we didn’t expect to sell our house so quick, so it was a bit of a shock when the buyers wanted to move in by the end of September. My husband and I had a conversation and together we are a strong family so we knew we could do anything as long as we had the communication between all involved.
“We started a little packing before we jetted off for our wedding abroad and when we came back it was all hands on deck to pack before we had our UK wedding reception. If it wasn’t for sales executive Christine Hopwood’s help, the house move wouldn’t have gone as smoothly as anticipated.”
The location, environment, general look and style of homes attracted the couple to Trinity Brook. Suzanne added: “We walked into the show home, and I fell in love with it straight away. It was bright and spacious, the lights made the house look so clean, the homeware was perfectly placed, and the garden was manageable for a young family to maintain, but at the same time big enough for the children to play in.
“The show home made me feel so happy and I could picture my family living there – it’s close to work and our girl’s can each have their own bedroom and space.”
And as an extra surprise on return from honeymoon, the family were offered their pick of the show home furniture – deciding in turn to sell what they didn’t need, donating the proceeds to the company’s chosen charity – Little Miracles, a Peterborough-based charity supporting families of children with additional needs.
Kevin added: “Throughout our journey in buying our dream house, we have been treated with respect and kindness. We can’t thank Linden Homes enough, every query has been dealt with so quickly and staff have gone the extra mile to help.”
Trinity Brook boasts a range of two-bedroom terraced homes, three bedroom detached homes and four bedroom detached houses. The development, off Cambridge Road enjoys a convenient village setting within easy reach of the centre of Leicester, which just 6 miles away.
