Moving house can be a long and stressful experience, but not for one couple who took advantage of Linden Homes’ Part Exchange scheme and relocated to Bath to be nearer to their children and grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs Robinson moved to Ensleigh in Lansdown from Sunderland in the North East. Noreen, a retired headteacher, and her husband Philip, a retired assistant headteacher, bought a three bedroom home at the end of October and moved eight weeks later, in time for Christmas.
The couple have a son who lives in London and a daughter who recently moved to Bath with her husband and young family – Henry, four and Martha, three months. Speaking about their move, Noreen said: “Our daughter used to live in London and spent many weekends visiting Bath before they relocated here. We moved to be nearer to our grandchildren and we’re delighted that they chose Bath – it’s such a gorgeous city.
“Having previously lived in a large four bedroom house, we decided to look for a brand new property now that we’ve retired and our old house was valued by a local estate agent that we knew. We didn’t want to worry about maintenance – fixing the roof or having to replace an old boiler – we wanted to relax and downsize.
“We visited Ensleigh and fell in love with a property that ticked every box on our wish list: it’s near our grandchildren, has three bedrooms, a garden, an en-suite, a garage, a good-sized living room with doors that open out to the garden and an open plan kitchen.
“Although we didn’t have our home on the market, Gemma at Linden Homes suggested Part Exchange. Not only did we get a comparable price for our old home that we were happy with, but it gave us peace of mind, meant we could reserve immediately and move quickly.
“After being in our old home for 29 years, it was fantastic not to have to tidy up for house viewings and there was so much involved in relocating, the convenience of Part Exchange was a real blessing.
“The whole process has been unbelievably smooth, we didn’t experience any problems and the level of support we received prior to reservation and after we moved in has been outstanding. We are absolutely thrilled with our new home at Ensleigh and can thoroughly recommend Part Exchange – it’s saved us many sleepless nights!”
Sue Scholfield, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “We’re pleased that Mr and Mrs Robinson are happy in their new home and that Part Exchange has helped, it really is a wonderful initiative.”
Sue added: “If you have a property to sell, our Part Exchange scheme could help you move quicker than you think. Not only does it alleviate the stress from selling your home, but it means your estate agent fees are paid too. We can be your guaranteed buyer, enabling you to stay in your old home until your new one is ready.”
Explaining the process, Sue said: “We arrange some home valuations and then provide a part exchange offer within seven days, so you could be in a new Linden home within 28 days from reservation.”
