We welcomed another class of budding builders from Devon who came to visit our South West region’s Milbury Reach development.
About 60 pupils at Exminster Primary School enjoyed a tour of the building site and discovered more about housebuilding materials, as part of the National Curriculum.
Teacher Tina Roberts said: “The pupils loved getting dressed up in the safety gear and learning about the different methods of construction. The project manager was really patient and explained to them the process of building a home and the materials they used.
“Being able to touch the different type of bricks and insulation makes much more of an impact on them than what they’re told about in the classroom and it’s been a wonderful experience for them.”
Linden Homes South West project manager Robert Baker added: “We were thrilled to have the children visit site – we have so many different types of materials to hand, it’s the perfect place for them to learn about this topic.
“The school visit also provided us with a great opportunity to talk to pupils about site safety which is very important to us.”
Linden Homes has contributed over £9.7 million towards leisure, sport and other public facilities in the UK since 2010.
We only use composite front doors which are insulated to lessen heat loss from our homes.
