A string of residents at award-winning Graylingwell Park in Chichester – the biggest carbon-neutral development in the country – have taken up our offer of £50 vouchers to help them switch to pedal power.
All our Linden Homes households are being offered the tokens which can be used to go towards a new bike at any cycle shop, of which there are about four in Chichester alone!
The initiative is to give people practical assistance in choosing a greener mode of transport – which in this case will help them get fit too. So far 14 vouchers have been redeemed, as well as alternatives for the same amount towards a three-month bus pass.
Graylingwell Park also features its own energy centre to provide hot water and space heating to all units, 1,752 square metres of solar panels on the first phase of homes, an off-site wind turbine, and comprehensive home insulation to balance its carbon footprint to a net zero.
Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “This scheme is yet another example of how we have challenged the normal way of doing things to create this eco-friendly groundbreaking development.
“I would encourage more residents take up this offer which will reduce reliance on the car, help them keep fit, and save them money all at once!”
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
Linden Homes has contributed over £1.2 million to health care services in the UK since 2010.
