In keeping with its ongoing development strategy to deliver well-located new homes in areas of high housing demand, we acquired three sites in Totton, including the former AFC Totton site.
To provide the local community with quality sporting facilities for the future, we ensured that a new ground was provided for the club before commencing building works. In addition, the company also worked to preserve the BAT cricket ground and built a brand new pavilion for local residents and members of the former BAT social club.
Linden Homes Southern managing director Matt Paine said: “The new housing developments, The Mallards and Brunswick Park, are proving very popular but the whole project has allowed Linden Homes to really give back to the Totton community.”
He added: “The project has allowed us to provide much-needed housing in the Totton area as well as helping to realise the ambitions of AFC Totton. We’ve also been able to preserve a local landmark, the cricket ground, which has always been, and now remains, at the heart of this community. It was also recently recognised as one of the top projects in the ‘Best Community Initiatives’ category at the Housebuilder of the Year awards.”
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
Linden Homes has contributed over £9.7 million towards leisure, sport and other public facilities in the UK since 2010.
