In memory of one of our South West region’s subcontractors who sadly died in June, we raised more than £3,000 for the hospice that looked after him.
Married with two children, Dave Rollo was just 49 when he lost his battle with cancer. He spent time at Rowcroft Hospice which provides specialist care in south Devon to patients with progressive, life limiting illnesses.
We collected the funding by organising a golf day at Torquay Golf Club and succeeded in gathering a total of £3,070.
Bill Danks, Linden Homes South West build manager, said: “Dave was a hardworking contractor and a genuine friend. He always called everyone a ‘diamond geezer’ but that was a phrase that summed him up perfectly. I loved working with him and he will be greatly missed.
“Before Dave died, he asked us to help raise money for the hospice and it was very important to us to commemorate his many years of service. It was great to get everyone together at the golf day and remember him in such a positive way.”
Hayley Norrish, community fundraising manager for Rowcroft Hospice, added: "We're extremely grateful for this generous donation, which will help us to continue providing our vital care across South Devon, to those living with life-limiting illness and supporting their families.”
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
We only use composite front doors which are insulated to lessen heat loss from our homes.
