Team downs tools to help Cheddar First School

Linden Homes Western Working With Cheddar First School

Linden Homes Western Working With Cheddar First School

As part of our ongoing community engagement, we regularly work with local schools to educate children on issues such as health and safety, as well as sustainability.

However, when it came to finding a name for a boutique new development in the village of Cheddar, we decided to approach Cheddar First School’s headteacher, Maggie Wilson, about a naming competition for pupils of the school.

Students were enthusiastic to make their mark on their community through the competition, although it was eight year-old Matilda Doel whose name “Strawberry Meadows” was selected as the winner, since Cheddar is known for strawberries.

Adrian Bird, Linden Homes Western’s sales and marketing director and community champion, said: “I’d like to thank Cheddar First School for taking part in the competition. The local community is an important part of every development which we build, so it’s fitting that the name was chosen by one of its young members.”
