We’re helping to spread the word about sustainable building by joining in with the Supply Chain Sustainability School initiative.
For two years we’ve been part of the nationwide project which aims to help the construction industry adopt the practices and understand the new rules that will make it more environmentally friendly, more efficient, and consume less resources and energy.
As part of the Homes section of the initiative which we played a role in setting up, we invited a group of supply companies we work with closely to a roadshow event at our Caterham office on Wednesday December 16th. We highlighted the project and shared our insights into bringing positive change to the way we work together.
Linden Homes was represented by Caroline Johnstone, group sustainability manager, and Kevin Moran, group procurement director. Attendees said afterwards that they appreciated the update and efforts to engage with them on the issues.
Caroline said: “Building regulations, legislation, planning consents, investors and clients are all driving increasingly challenging environmental and social sustainability requirements for the supply chain.
“The Supply Chain Sustainability School initiative gives us the opportunity to work with our suppliers as a team so that we are all contributing towards making our industry more sustainable and environmentally friendly.”
