Guidance: we donated £500 to help Strensall and Towthorpe draft a village design statement
We gave villagers in North Yorkshire our support when they got together to draw up a plan of how they would like their community to shape up.
Members of Strensall and Towthorpe Parish Council are working with residents to draft a village design statement – a document that describes the neighbourhood’s important characteristics and gives guidance on future development.
Our North region contributed £500 to help fund the consultation process that gathered villagers’ ideas and opinions before the final version was submitted to City of York Council for approval.
Linden Homes North managing director Ian Hessay said: “One of our principles as a housebuilder is to try to help form communities, so supporting Strensall and Towthorpe residents make clear their neighbourhood aspirations makes perfect sense.
“Getting a development’s character right is important to provide much-needed homes responsibly and sustainably, and village design statements are very helpful guides.”
Linden Homes has contributed over £12.8 million towards outdoor open areas throughout the UK since 2010.
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
