Steve Green, site manager at our Guildford region’s flagship Swallowhurst development, has been recognised as one of the best in his field.

Steve (53) picked up the prestigious Seal of Excellence at the South-East Pride in the Job Awards, organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC) to recognise the quality and professionalism of the top site managers from around the country.

He was applauded at a ceremony on September 19th at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel, and will now go on to represent the region at the competition's grand final in London in January 2015.

Steve said: “Swallowhurst has been a fantastically rewarding development to work on, it’s a very prestigious site in a rural area and the houses are of a particularly traditional construction; architecturally the build has been challenging.

“I may well be in the limelight but it has been very much a massive team effort and this award is a credit to everyone who has been involved.”

As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, Pride in the Job judges assess site managers across 38 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.

Peter Youll, managing director of Linden Homes Guildford, said: “I would like to congratulate and thank Steve for his ongoing outstanding commitment to his work, which is a credit to Linden Homes.”
