We hit the beach to help a nearby Gateshead school compete in a charity sandcastle challenge.
Our North East region supported Brighton Avenue Primary School at Sandhaven Beach, South Shields, for the event where over 1,500 children worked in teams on designs inspired by the Great North Run.
It was organised by Children North East, which works to promote the rights of children and young people and counter the effects of inequality on them, their families and communities.
The Brighton Avenue pupils sculpted a living room scene – complete with sofa, armchair and television – from sand and decorated it with artwork, produced in class, with the help of Linden Homes employees.
Kate Brooks, sales manager at Linden Homes North East, explained: “We went a bit leftfield with the living room design as we wanted to acknowledge the thousands of people who watch the run on TV but never get anywhere near the start line!
“The children were great and put a lot of effort in to their sand sculpture, which was rewarded with a first place finish.”
Wherever possible the appliances fitted in our homes are ‘A Rated’ or higher for energy performance.
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
