It was a hair-raising experience for one of our Midlands region’s directors when he had his legs waxed for charity.
Commercial director Chris Harris endured the pain in aid of the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall hospice appeal which is aiming to raise £6 million to build a new state-of-the-art care facility in its grounds in Peterborough.
Thorpe Hall is the only hospice providing free, specialist end of life care across Peterborough and large parts of the surrounding counties where there are an estimated 75,000 people living with incurable illnesses.
Chris joined in the Febru-hairy initiative which saw other fundraisers around the city shaving off beards, wearing wigs for the day, enduring an intentional bad hair day or even dying their locks.
The waxing for Chris’s own eye-watering stunt was carried out by customer services manager Nicola Scanlon. It attracted a crowd at our office in Peterborough and raised £120.
It joins the £4,300 we have already collected for the appeal from events including a charity golf day, dress down day and cake sale.
Linden Homes has contributed over £12.8 million towards outdoor open areas throughout the UK since 2010.
Wherever possible we source our bricks from the UK.
