Smart start to the season with brand new football kits

Kitted out: the Ugborough under-10s side is ready for the new season

Kitted out: the Ugborough under-10s side is ready for the new season

Two more teams of footballing youngsters showed off their new kit at the start of this season thanks to sponsorship from our South West region.

The Ugborough under-10s and Newton Abbot 66 under-14s sides are now sporting fresh strips featuring the Linden Homes logo as they kick off their youth league campaigns. The sponsorship was worth about £500 to each club.

Newton Abbot 66, which also has several senior sides, gets its name from when it was formed in England’s World Cup-winning year of 1966.

Ugborough Football Club, meanwhile, was formed five years ago with the sole aim of giving youngsters a fun and friendly environment to enjoy the game.

Linden Homes South West managing director Nigel Palmer said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the teams because the lads get so much from playing football – exercise, teamwork and making new friends. I hope both sides have a great season.

“It’s important to us to help local organisations – whether they be football clubs or charities – so that we keep our neighbourhood links strong. We want to meet our responsibilities to go beyond delivering quality homes and contribute to communities too.”
