Site manager proud to lead development near childhood village

Proud: Glen Hilton is site manager for a 234-home development bringing new roads and play areas

Proud: Glen Hilton is site manager for a 234-home development bringing new roads and play areas

One of our site managers who grew up near Okehampton is proud to be leading a big investment in the town with new homes, play areas and nature reserves.

Glen Hilton (31), who spent his childhood in nearby Lydford, will be overseeing the construction of 234 two, three and four-bedroom homes, off Exeter Road, providing accommodation for the local community.

The development will also bring a new link road and public recreational areas, as well as a recruitment drive of up to 120 tradesmen. Most will come from the local area for the duration of the project that is expected to be complete in winter 2018.

Glen started as an apprentice carpenter with Linden Homes 14 years ago, and went on to train at Plymouth College in Site Management, with the company’s support.

He said: “Ours is very much a people business and I’m looking forward to bringing new life to the town that benefits an area that I’ve grown up in.

“We will strive to ensure that all works are carried out with due respect residents, as site neighbours, and aim to complete as efficiently and swiftly as possible. We intend to keep residents informed of the works.”
