More than 100 ex-show home items were donated by our Southern region to be sold to raise money for Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington, Hampshire.
The quality furniture included dining tables and chairs, sofas, easy chairs and bedside tables. They will all eventually go on sale at the hospice’s shops in Highcliffe and Southampton.
Oakhaven Hospice provides free day care, community care, hospice at home, and inpatient care for 180 people per week. It costs £3 million to run every year – of which only 13% is paid by the NHS. The rest is from donations and fundraising.
Oakhaven’s director of fundraising, Mike Denny, said: “Donations like this are very much appreciated and we are really grateful to Linden Homes for such wonderful and generous support.
“Our shops play a vital role in generating income and the donation of ex show home furniture will give them a real boost.”
Brendon O’Neill, managing director at Linden Homes Southern, added: “We are delighted to be able to help Oakhaven Hospice and we really hope the furniture will raise some money for this excellent charity and the amazing work that they do in the community. We are very glad to be able to make such a contribution.”
