With the new footballing season getting under way, one Pocklington resident is still celebrating Germany’s World Cup win – thanks to our North region.
At our Wilberforce Manor development in the East Riding town, we teamed up with Lindum York, the construction company overseeing the adjacent health centre, to organise a special competition between neighbours.
We invited local residents to forecast the winner of this summer’s tournament, and stumped up a £100 cash prize for the one making the right prediction.
The person who correctly selected Germany was Geoff Ullyott – and he was presented with his reward by Linden Homes North site manager Gary Aspinall and Lindum York site manager Chris Shaw.
Gary explained: “Having construction work going on in your neighbourhood can be difficult at times and, with two different building sites in action, we wanted to show our appreciation to the local residents for their patience and understanding so we organised this as a bit of fun by inviting predictions of the teams to reach the World Cup final and the overall winner.”
Wilberforce Manor is a stunning selection of 99 stylish two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.
Over 90% of our waste is recycled or converted into energy.
We only use composite front doors which are insulated to lessen heat loss from our homes.
