Pupils and parents in our Western region were glowing with delight at a delivery of 800 reflecting arm bands to make the walk to school safer.
We gave the gear to schools around the area to help mark National Road Safety Week, an annual campaign in November that road safety charity Brake has been running since 1997.
As the winter evenings get darker youngsters who walk or cycle to class have been receiving the equipment in Newent, Chippenham, Abergavenny and Bradford-on-Avon.
Glebe Infants School, in Newent, was among those to benefit and headteacher Lin Griffiths said: "We are very grateful that Linden Homes has thought of us for the road safety initiative – and I know that our pupils will enjoy wearing the arm bands."
Linden Homes Western sales director Adrian Bird said: "As part of our work with local communities around our developments we wanted to play our part in promoting road safety awareness.
“The arm bands will help the children become more visible in the darker mornings and evenings, making their journey to and from school safer during the coming winter months.”
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
All of our toilets have a modern dual flush facility to conserve water usage.
