We're giving a new lease of life to the tower of a former brewery which has been the focal point of a Hampshire village for 150 years
The Victorian-built red brick structure in Horndean used to be home to the famous Gale and Co beer company, before it relocated to Chiswick.
Now it's being preserved and protected as it starts a new phase in its life by becoming a very special part of our Southern region's development of houses and apartments – appropriately named The Old Brewery.
Linden Homes Southern sales and marketing director Mark Docherty said: "Horndean is a very old settlement and has always played an important part in the prosperity of the south of England.
"Today it is a busy and thriving place and we are proud to be building these new homes at the centre of the village, playing our part in helping it to prosper.
"And by renovating and maintaining the famous Gale and Co tower, we are able to preserve an important symbol of Horndean’s history.”
The blocks we use to build your home are the most energy efficient available and 80% of material within the blocks is recycled material - this saves heat loss from our homes and thus reduces CO2 emissions.
Over £133m has been committed by Linden Homes to improving local communities since 2010.
