Race sponsorship helps run up more charity funds

We stepped up to the plate to give our backing to South Devon College’s 10-kilometre race and fun run.

Our South West region sponsored the event on March 16th which attracted more than 500 runners for both – despite some unfriendly weather!

The race fundraised for the Friends of South Devon College charity which gives extra support to students, such as contributing towards facilities or assisting in hardship cases. It also gave vital event management experience for sports and public services students.

Janice Morris, senior events and lettings co-ordinator from South Devon College, added: “We are really grateful to Linden Homes for sponsoring the race and are delighted with the race turnout and feedback from runners.

“The day raised a great deal of money and this will now be used to make a real difference to our students affected by hardship or disadvantage.”

Linden Homes South West managing director Nigel Palmer said: “We’re pleased to support South Devon College’s gruelling 10k run and I must pass on my congratulations to the runners, as I understand it’s an enjoyable but very challenging course.

“South Devon College is well regarded locally and a number of our apprentices and trainees attend courses at the college, so I’m delighted we have been able to sponsor this event.”
