Construction came into the classroom at a school in East Yorkshire when one of our North region’s experts gave a lesson in building.
Youngsters aged between four and 10 at Keyingham Primary were able to discover more about the housebuilding industry from technical co-ordinator Mike Dee who was invited to share some of his knowledge.
Mike gave an insight into his role, guiding them through the construction process and the importance of health and safety – which gave some of the pupils a chance to model some hi-vis workwear!
They also played a game to guess the number of bricks it takes to build a Linden Homes house.
Mike said: “It was a fantastic day and a wonderful experience to share information about my job with the children, and to be able to chat with them about the role of house builders within the local community and the consideration given to the environment when drawing plans for homes.
“The children were very responsive, and the safety gear talk and demonstration seemed to be a highlight of the sessions!”
Linden Homes has contributed over £9.7 million towards leisure, sport and other public facilities in the UK since 2010.
All of our toilets have a modern dual flush facility to conserve water usage.
