Pupils’ ‘amazing’ models inspired by development visit

Budding architects and builders got the chance to show off their own house designs after a recent visit to our St Nicholasgate development in Beverley, in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The trip taught pupils from Swinemoor Primary School first-hand how a construction site is run and what goes on behind the hoardings – and they used it as inspiration for their own ideas of how a home should look.

Linden Homes North technical manager Peter Crabbe was invited along with Lee Wilson, technical project engineer at the University of Hull Business School, back to the school to judge the youngsters’ blueprints.

The competition was part of a school project all about making models of houses and drawing plans, and both visiting experts were deeply impressed with the results.

Peter said: “The imagination and effort that went in to every single drawing or model was outstanding. Lee and I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the children’s work and chatting to them about the ideas that went into their models.

“The tough part was choosing a winner – but they were all amazing!”
