On the final shortlist for major architects award

Praise: Newhall Be in Harlow, Essex, was hailed for its 'radical rethinking' of housing design

Praise: Newhall Be in Harlow, Essex, was hailed for its 'radical rethinking' of housing design

Our Newhall Be development of pioneering new homes in Essex has made the final shortlist for one of the UK’s most prestigious architecture awards.

It was described on the shortlist for the 2013 Royal Institute of British Architects Stirling Prize as a “radical rethinking” of housing and hailed as a potential “new model” for the future of British homes.

The collection in Harlow was delivered by our Eastern region with design by Alison Brooks Architects, and has already sold out thanks to its popularity.

The final six entries to be nominated for the national prize were whittled down from a group of 52, and the winner will be announced on September 26th.

The 84-home development was shortlisted having already won the title of RIBA East Building of the Year. Newhall Be features light and airy interiors with fresh design and a contemporary character.

Linden Homes Eastern director and general manager Adrian Bohr said: “To make the final shortlist and be recognised by such expert judges is a real honour. It’s another sign that we’re doing the right things for our customers.”
