Our dedication to providing plenty of green space at our Northfields development in Colchester, Essex, drew warm praise from the local MP.

The managing director of Linden Homes Eastern, Mick Laws, and his team showed Sir Bob Russell around the collection of houses and apartments which are located within walking distance of the town’s train station, helping to reduce car use.

Sir Bob said: "When you walk around this new neighbourhood, you get a real feel for the scale of the development here. What is particularly impressive is the amount of green space that is being planned: Linden Homes want to make this a key feature and I was happy to contribute my thoughts.

"What we need in Colchester is more three and four bedroom affordable houses. Families need space to grow. The houses I saw being completed today are a good example that other developers could follow."

Linden Homes Eastern managing director Mick Laws added: “It was encouraging to hear that this development is headed in the right direction and we were thrilled that Sir Bob liked our efforts to make the site as green as possible."
