We’ve made things a bit easier for villagers of Welwyn in Hertfordshire by resurfacing a car park and creating a new ramp to the front door of the local playgroup.
The improvements are part of extra work we’re taking on while delivering a collection of high quality new family homes at our Wilshere Park development.
The parents and youngsters who use Acorn Playgroup and Pre-School have been among those feeling the benefits.
Tina Soderberg, Acorn Playgroup and Pre-School leader, said: “The ramp is excellent and makes it so much simpler for those with disabilities and parents with children in buggies to get to playgroup every day.
“It really has made a tremendous difference. It means the wheelchairs and buggies can now be brought safely and easily from the car park straight into playgroup. We are so pleased.”
Nick Laughane, land director at Linden Homes Chiltern, added: “Wilshere Park is due to launch early next year but we’ve already been working closely with the community and local stakeholders to ensure the look and feel of the new Linden homes are in keeping with those in the locale of Welwyn village.
“And at Linden Homes, we are always keen to invest in the communities where we build. At this site alone, we have created 204 jobs and have 15 apprentices working on site; demonstrating that when we build, we look to build local homes by local people.”
Over 90% of our waste is recycled or converted into energy.
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
