More than 3,000 enjoy Graylingwell Park garden party

Heave! Activities at the Graylingwell Park summer party included a hotly contested tug of war

Heave! Activities at the Graylingwell Park summer party included a hotly contested tug of war

More than 3,000 people dropped in to enjoy the annual community garden party held at Graylingwell Park in Chichester.

The event had something for everyone: a climbing wall, plate smashing, a chance to hold a giant toad and a tarantula, tugs of war, a dog show, Zumba sessions, and much, much more.

The sound track to the celebration, run in partnership with Scouts Children’s Day, was provided by Chichester Music Academy. The Mayor and Mayoress of Chichester also arrived to hand out prizes.

The whole day was sponsored by us in partnership with Chichester Community Development Trust (CCDT), Affinity Sutton and ROX. It is hoped to have raised a large amount for the Scouts, youth activities and other local charities.

Jane Haskins, CCDT event director, said: “This is a real team effort to get this event planned and delivered. Again, this year, it was a great success, and the CCDT hope to carry this on for many years to come, making it bigger and better every year!”

The next occasion at Graylingwell Park is a National Play Day event on Wednesday August 6th 2pm-4pm.  For more information on events go to www.chichestercdt.org.uk.
