We are one of the leading housebuilders when it comes to creating homes with carbon footprints that are as small as possible – and our Guildford region has been especially successful.
All the properties completed there so far this year have met or surpassed government standards for sustainability, including achieving targets at some of our developments through the use of renewable technologies.
We achieve these levels by better insulation, double glazing, high-efficiency appliances and, to improve even further, we are now monitoring energy usage at a number of homes to check how true performance compares to our predictions.
Our showcase development, Graylingwell Park in Chichester, is leading the way as the UK’s largest zero-carbon community where homes are being constructed to the very highest sustainability level.
Linden Homes Guildford technical director David Evans said: “It adds an extra challenge to our job to meet these higher standards, but the benefits to the environment and our customers’ energy bills make it all worthwhile.
“Sustainability codes are getting stricter in the next few years so we are determined to stay ahead of these trends and continue to lead the way.”
