Building sites are a dangerous temptation for some youngsters so our Eastern region has been taking preventative action by highlighting the potential risks at its new development in Ealing, London.
Children were invited to meet members of the team at the Allen Court site where we are regenerating a decrepit old tower block near Sudbury Hill tube station into a collection of high quality new apartments and town houses.
They learned some vital health and safety lessons from a presentation and DVD which outlined the perils of messing about on construction sites.
When completed, the major regeneration project will deliver a mix of 89 apartments and houses, as well as new community facilities and improvements to the surrounding green space.
Linden Homes Eastern’s managing director, Adrian Bohr, said: “Buildings sites can be highly hazardous to the unwary, particularly children, so I hope our safety lessons hit home.
“New developments aren’t islands to themselves, even as they take shape, and this initiative is an example of how important it is to us to get out into the community early on.”
Over 90% of our waste is recycled or converted into energy.
The blocks we use to build your home are the most energy efficient available and 80% of material within the blocks is recycled material - this saves heat loss from our homes and thus reduces CO2 emissions.
