- Eden Park Primary School Pupils Visit White Rock
Pupils at Eden Park Primary School Academy in Brixham recently visited our White Rock development in Paignton as part of their selling homes project, to develop their persuasive writing and presentation skills.
The children will have to become the next Phil Spencer and Kirsty Allsopp from Location, Location, Location for their task. They will be designing a concept board to sell their own homes, taking photos and writing about them, which will then be displayed at an estate agency and White Rock’s sales and marketing suite.
The 120 pupils, all between nine and 11 years old, visited White Rock for inspiration. They were shown floor plans and development layouts, enjoyed a tour of the site, viewed a completed show home and were given tips on persuasive writing and how to sell and market new homes.
Teacher Suzie Shorter at Eden Park Primary School Academy said: “Linden Homes has supported the learning at our school in the past and we were delighted to work with them again. The children’s visit to the show home really ignited their interest and inspired their learning. The tips on persuasive writing have so much more impact when embedded in a real world context like the development at White Rock and when delivered by an expert working in the industry. This is having a fantastic positive impact on their understanding, progress and – most importantly – enthusiasm for learning.”
Our South West PR manager, Emma Mackay said: “The children were learning how to sell homes to hone their persuasive writing and presentation skills for their ‘location, location, location’ selling homes project and we were very impressed with their enthusiasm. We love having schools visit us on site, some of the pupils ask some really interesting questions and make some very imaginative suggestions – it’s great to see them so inspired.”
Suzie added: “Visiting White Rock has meant that the children are excited to learn and our trip has raised their aspirations for their own future. By becoming involved in the local community in this way, Linden Homes has created a buzz at our school that will lead to curiosity, excitement and – ultimately – achievement.”
