Keen runner Jodi Iles has just completed her first major event – and boosted cancer care charity coffers at the same time.
The 28-year-old customer care co-ordinator, based at our North region’s head office in Hessle, was among the 5,000 people to take part in the recent Jane Tomlinson 10Km road race in Hull.
Jodie has been training for the event for three months, and despite the heat on the day, completed the course in 57 minutes.
She said: “Although I was a little disappointed with my time, I was so pleased to have raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support – a cause close to my heart and a charity which helped in caring for my stepdad a few years ago.”
Jodi, who lives in Hull, trains around the local parks and open spaces each week – and is working towards a half marathon later this year, and a full marathon in 2016.
Jodie has already beaten her £100 fundraising target but further donations can be made by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/jodi-iles/.
