Pupils from two schools have a safer walk to their lessons thanks to a bright idea from our Western region.
Youngsters at Glebe Infant School in Newent, Gloucestershire, and Creech St Michael Primary School in Somerset received branded high-vis drawstring bags to carry their books and at the same time be seen clearly by motorists during the darker winter days.
The launch of the initiative coincided with Road Safety Week, running from November 17th-23rd, and also included a health and safety assembly delivered by members of our Linden Homes team.
The schools are close to our Meadow Grove development in Newent and the yet-to-be-launched Manor Park in Creech St Michael.
Sue Scholfield, sales director at Linden Homes Western, explained: “Concern about road danger can impact on children’s ability to walk, cycle and live healthy active lives.
“We wanted to help raise pupils’ awareness of the risks on roads and these bags will make sure they are visible to other road users.”
Wherever possible the appliances fitted in our homes are ‘A Rated’ or higher for energy performance.
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
