Our Guildford region raised hundreds for its nominated charity this year and is aiming to collect just as much for the next good cause.
Raffles and sales at the office tuck shop accumulated £737 for local charity Guildford Challengers, which delivers inclusive play activities for disabled youngsters across Surrey, Hampshire and beyond.
The Royal Marsden Hospital, London, has been chosen as the new charity of the year, and our Guildford team will be aiming to gather hundreds more to boost its specialist cancer treatment services.
The first fundraiser for the hospital was on Halloween when there was a tuck shop with a difference – the chance for every customer to take part in a trick-or-treat lucky dip with some ghoulish surprises.
Kim Johnson, our customer care co-ordinator, has overseen the fundraising and she said: “We had great support for Guildford Challengers and that’s continuing for the Royal Marsden Hospital – it’s been a really good response.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their support and say well done for the money we’ve raised. Here’s hoping we get some more big queues at the tuck shop.”
