Our team in Essex have been praised for injecting a real sense of community into its development in Brentwood, which is selling quickly to local residents within just a seven-mile radius of the development. And, the community spirit has attracted high profile attention in the form of a senior government minister.
We welcomed the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, to our prestigious new Burntwood Square development in early December 2011.
The Minister was given a tour of the site by Gareth Jacob, Linden Homes Eastern sales and marketing director, and Mick Laws, managing director of Linden Homes Eastern, where Linden Homes is undertaking a meticulous restoration of the former Highwood and Little Highwood hospital buildings on the 17 acre site.
The refurbishment of the iconic Victorian buildings will transform them into stunning new homes, ensuring they continue to play a positive role in the Brentwood community for many years to come.
Speaking on site, Mr Pickles said: “This is a fantastic development which is close to the town centre and which offers local people a sense of space and a very real community. I think this represents the very best of modern planning.”
Mick Laws said: “We are delighted that the Minister took time out of his busy schedule to come and visit Burntwood Square to see first-hand the work Linden Homes is doing in providing quality new homes that genuinely connect with the local community.
"The Minister was particularly complimentary of the quality of the refurbishment, and the green open space which lies at the heart of the scheme.”
Linden Homes has contributed over £9.7 million towards leisure, sport and other public facilities in the UK since 2010.
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
