Going the extra mile is something we pride ourselves on but the managing director of Linden Homes South East, Steve Bangs, and two of his colleagues took it literally when they ran a half-marathon to raise thousands for charity.
Steve was joined by land director Dylan May and planning manager Ben Johnson to take on the challenge of the Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon.
The route took them through four of London’s Royal Parks on a 13.1-mile course and together they collected more than £4,000 to be split between the Children’s Trust and Get Kids Going.
The race is a major annual charity event, which has helped to raise an estimated £11 million for 365 UK-based charities, large and small. It passes historic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.
Steve said: “The half-marathon was exhausting but every step was worth it because it was in aid of such a good cause. The backdrop of the capital as we made our way round the course was inspiring and it was a great day for everyone involved.
“I think team events like this show the good spirit we have at Linden Homes South East and how we are genuinely willing to go the extra mile for the benefit of the community.”
The blocks we use to build your home are the most energy efficient available and 80% of material within the blocks is recycled material - this saves heat loss from our homes and thus reduces CO2 emissions.
Linden Homes has contributed over £47.7 million to education throughout the UK since 2010.
