We chipped in our contribution to an annual golf day in Surrey held in aid of a children’s hospices charity.
The money will go to Shooting Star Chase, a charity for families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex who have a child or teenager suffering a life-limiting condition. Its two hospices are Christopher's in Guildford and Shooting Star House, Hampton.
Our Guildford region sponsored one of the holes with a banner provided by Reade Signs and put together a team of four: Linden Homes’ Steve Brownlie and Daniel McDonagh, plus Richard Snape from Curchods Estate Agents and Dominic Bruneau from Bourne Estates.
The fundraiser at Sutton Green Golf Couse, near Woking, was named Gracie’s Golf Day in memory of a little girl who received care at Shooting Star House and whose family organises it every year.
It included 18 holes of golf followed by an evening meal, trophy presentations and auction. In 2012 about £10,000 was raised and it was hoped this year’s event on June 6th would reach the same total.
Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “Shooting Star Chase does great work with children and families around the region, so we’re delighted to have got involved in collecting much-needed funding.”
All of our toilets have a modern dual flush facility to conserve water usage.
The boilers heating our houses are some of the most efficient available, saving you money and minimising CO2 emissions.
