The Christmas lights in the Hertfordshire village of Welwyn will shine a little brighter this year with support from our Chiltern region.
The community is planning a spectacular display which will be switched on at 5pm on 1st December. We are contributing £1,000 towards the event to help make it even more enchanting.
The Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, Cllr Lynne Sparks, will be there to see the lights go on, joined by local residents and businesses who have contributed to the spectacle – as well as by those who are there to just enjoy it.
Our contribution bought enough coloured LED fairy lights to adorn the trees at three key focal points in the village: the Civic Centre; Lockley’s Drive, and in St Mary’s churchyard, at the heart of the village.
Adrian Sims, managing director for Linden Homes Chiltern, said: “It should be a remarkable evening, it sounds like the illuminations and decorations have been very carefully thought out to include all the key areas of Welwyn.
“We are so pleased to be part of it and part of making Welwyn look so festive for Christmas.”
The benefits of buying new make the choice easy. Here are just a few:
