We responded to an appeal for help from a North Yorkshire community centre by giving a £10,000 boost to its revamp plans.
The money was presented by our North region to the trustees of the award-winning Riccall Regen Centre, which volunteers are working hard to transform with a £47,000 improvement plan.
The Regen Centre opened in 2000, four years after the idea first came about from residents. Today, the centre is at the hub of the community – providing facilities for conferences and meetings, sports and leisure activities, and childcare groups.
Regen trustee Noel Shouksmith said: “It is with enormous thanks and huge gratitude that we accept this generous donation from Linden Homes.
“The Regen Centre was built by the community for the community and is invaluable to the people of Riccall and other local communities.”
Steve Woomble, Linden Homes North sales director, said: “The Regen Centre in Riccall is a prime example of what can be achieved by volunteers and local people who really care about their community – and we are delighted to support them in their quest to further improve the centre.”
All waste plasterboard is recycled and used in the manufacture of new plasterboard products.
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
