Donation builds up school’s hi-tech learning appeal

Funding: Linden Homes’ Pauline Tilton presents the funds at the John Clare Primary School fete

The weather may have not been textbook for a school summer fete – but the rain wasn’t enough to dampen youngsters’ spirits in Helpston, Cambridgeshire!

Pupils and visitors to the John Clare Primary School fete near Peterborough were still able to enjoy all the traditions of the event, which included tombola, raffle, side stalls and attractions.

One of the highlights of the fete was the presentation of a cheque to the Friends of John Clare Primary from our Midlands region, as part of the school’s quest to raise money to buy tablets for use by the pupils.

Linden Homes Midlands sales director Chris Roads said: “We are delighted to be able to help the school in their fundraising efforts and thank everyone for making us so welcome at their summer fete.”

Rachel Simmons, headteacher at John Clare Primary School, said: “Despite the weather, the fete was a huge success and our thanks to everyone who supported us on the day and in particular to Linden Homes for their kind and generous donation.”
