Our Evolve development in Plymouth was in the running for yet another major national prize recognising quality housebuilding.
We were up for the title of ‘Development of the Year – Large Schemes’ in the UK Housing Awards, and the entry highlighted its benefits to the community such as regeneration of a rundown area, creating jobs and providing affordable, quaility homes.
We were jointly shortlisted along with our partners Devon and Cornwall Housing, Plymouth City Council and Westco. Evolve is a significant part of the ongoing regeneration of Devonport, providing a mix of affordable and private housing, plus employment space.
The partnership was hailed by Plymouth Sutton and Devonport MP Oliver Collville as having “injected vitality into the area and bringing a sense of hope and aspiration to the people of Devonport”.
Linden Homes South West managing director Nigel Palmer said afterwards: “Although we didn’t win the award this time, it’s yet another example of our developments being in the running for national recognition.
“Being shortlisted and winning awards is always encouraging and shows we’re doing the right things for our customers and the communities they live in.”
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
