Decorations mark 30th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s BFG

Flights of fancy: the specially decorated room at Bluebell in Bingham, Nottinghamshire

We paid tribute to much-loved children’s author Roald Dahl as one of his most popular books, ‘The BFG’, celebrated its 30th year.

To pay homage to the writer’s achievements, our Midlands region dedicated one of its show home bedrooms at the Bluebell development in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, to some of his fantastical characters.

Hand painted murals depicted scenes from ‘James and the Giant Peach’ and tucked away was also a cuddly ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.

Sales director Chris Roads explained: “We obviously want to capture the imagination of our show home visitors at all our sites, but when we launched this development in the summer we wanted a fun focal point – and the inspired decision was to use Roald Dahl, whose characters provoke people’s imaginations, whatever their age.”
