A construction site manager in our North region has persuaded his daughter to fly the nest by building her a new home!
Derek Jackson (60) has overseen construction at our Howden Green development, a brand new collection of houses in Howden-le-Wear, County Durham.
His daughter Louise and her partner Ian Moore were among the first to move in after she saw the quality of the homes during a visit to see her dad. He was even on hand to present the couple with the keys.
Mr Jackson said: “I suppose I hoped she would take a shine to one of the properties we were building and take the hint that maybe it was time to think about getting a place of her own.”
Ms Jackson (23) who will live in the Langley-style house with her 26-year-old partner, said: “I just popped down to see my dad, but I was immediately impressed with the layout of the houses.
“We had a look around, took a tour of the show homes and fell in love with the Langley straight away. Of course, it has dad’s seal of approval too.”
