Two Linden Homes cyclists are training for a gruelling 300-mile charity ride from London to Paris to collect thousands for charity.
Chris Lary (31), from our Guildford region, and Ian Wilkins (44), from South East, will set off on June 19th with the aim of collecting for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Institute of Cancer Research.
They will set off on June 19th and hope to reach the French capital within three to four days.
Chris said: “The challenge is a good excuse to train and the route will let us see parts of France you would not normally see. It’s going to be tough but it will also be a brilliant experience.”
Ian added: “Covering between 80 to 100 miles a day will be difficult and if the weather’s bad it’s going to be even harder. But it’s for a fantastic cause and I reckon our legs will ache a little bit less the more money we raise the less!”
Since it was established in the UK in 1986 the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted more than 8,300 wishes to children with life-threatening conditions. The Institute of Cancer Research is a world leader in isolating cancer-related genes and discovering new targeted cancer drugs.
Linden Homes has contributed over £9.7 million towards leisure, sport and other public facilities in the UK since 2010.
