Golfing enthusiasts clubbed together £12,000 at our Western region’s regular children’s charity fundraising event.
More than 100 people got involved at Kendleshire Golf Club, near Bristol, in aid of the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and also the Children's Hospice South West, which provides care for life-limited children and their families from across the region.
We were delighted to organise the 18-hole tournament in September to which we invited our sub-contractors and supply companies to enter teams and enjoy a few extra fun activities throughout the day.
The money was split equally between the two children’s charities and, despite the tough economic times, was the biggest total we have ever raised from these golf days.
Linden Homes Western managing director Clive Wiltshire said: “The response to this event was magnificent and we’re very proud to have played our part organising it. To raise so much at such a difficult time shows the generosity of all those who took part.
“It’s something we’re determined to keep doing – building quality homes while contributing to the community.”
