We won plaudits at a national awards ceremony for our Eastern region’s redevelopment of a former hospital in London.
The unique project is set to transform the Grade II listed St Clements Hospital site in Mile End, Tower Hamlets, into a vibrant new neighbourhood of 252 open market and affordable homes.
We were awarded the “highly commended” accolade in the Community-led Placemaking category at the Placemaking Awards, which recognise excellence in the planning and delivery of placemaking initiatives across the country.
St Clements is special because it’s the UK’s first urban community land trust. It’s being delivered in partnership between Linden Homes, architects John Thompson and Partners, the Greater London Authority, the East London Community Land Trust, and Peabody.
Attending the ceremony from Linden Homes Eastern were sales and marketing director Karen Roake with Rob Church and Nick Summers.
Karen said: “We’re very proud to be highly commended. St Clements also won prizes at the National Housing Awards last year so it’s clear that industry experts are taking notice of the quality and approach we’ve achieved.”
