The right new homes in just the right location
Follaton Oak is an exclusive collection of contemporary new homes in the south hams, just outside Totnes.
Here, overlooking the beautiful countryside and moorland towards Dartmoor, Linden Homes and their joint venture partners Horizon Homes are planning a wide choice of designs, with three, four or five bedrooms, offering something for everyone.
This is one of the most beautiful areas in Devon, and Totnes is the jewel in its crown. Poised on a hill that slopes down to the River Dart, the town is surrounded by rich and inspiring countryside. The river is home to a host of birds and animals, including little egrets, cormorants, kingfishers, grey seals and the elusive otter.
Close to everything – close to perfection
Follaton Oak couldn't be a more convenient location, with Totnes providing all the amenities of a bustling market town. Totnes has excellent transport links by road and rail. The nearest airport is at Exeter, and ferries to France and Spain operate from Plymouth.
There are supermarkets, banks, a library, doctors and dentist surgeries and local buses serving the surrounding area.
Families will appreciate the choice of good local schools for all ages. The Grove Primary School, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, is just under a mile away, while King Edward VI Community College, for 11-18 year olds, is around three quarters of a mile away.
Totnes railway station (1 mile) offers regular mainline services to London Paddington (3 hours), plus regular trains to Exeter and Plymouth, both in less than half an hour. By road, the A38 south west trunk road is 5.6 miles away, while the M5 motorway at Exeter is 25 miles away – about a half an hour drive.
Totnes is a fantastic place to relax, being a nationally famous centre for not only the arts, theatre and music, but also for natural health and alternative medicines. It has a noble history, with a castle dating from Saxon times defending the important River Dart estuary.
There are several museums and a number of notable old houses and architecturally important buildings, especially around the Eastgate and the Butterwalk in the town centre.
Ideally situated between Dartmoor and the sea, Follaton Oak is a perfect base from which to explore South Devon. It is only a short drive from the attractions of Torbay, the city of Exeter and the famous seaport of Plymouth.
