Liskerrett Vale, Liskeard

Liskerrett Vale

Standing in a slightly elevated position just above the historic market town of Liskeard, this phase of Liskerrett Vale creates an attractive collection of two, three and four bedroom homes.

These new homes have been designed with families in mind, excepting the pretty stone fronted coach house, which is ideal for a couple. They have private gardens and patios with larger properties having integral or detached garages and/or off road parking. They all have stylish and contemporary interiors with fashionable kitchens, bathrooms and some fabulous finishing touches.

Within easy reach of Liskeard town centre and the local schools, supermarkets and leisure centre, Liskerrett Vale is also within easy reach of the main access routes to Cornwall and the coast, Plymouth and Launceston.

Liskeard is a small market town at the head of the Looe Valley, an attractive and viable alternative to Plymouth and Launceston with the added benefit of being very close to the wildly romantic Cornish coast.

What’s on...

Liskeard was built mainly with the wealth from mining activities in the century before last and has some impressive public buildings which are now used to house the museum and information centre, providing a useful venue for a whole range of community activities.

The Public Hall also regularly hosts fayres and exhibitions, seasonal bazaars and get-togethers. Children’s theatre, plays and performances take place at the Community Centre which is also the home of Liskeard Community Cinema.

What to do...

The Lux Park Leisure Centre has a swimming pool, indoor sports and fitness centre and an all-weather floodlit football and hockey pitch.

You can find a children’s playground at Castle Park which has stunning views and there is also Westbourne Gardens which is a pretty park close to the town centre.

The Community Centre offers a tempting range of activities for children and adults ranging from circus skills to salsa dancing, meditation to informal music sessions.

Beyond Liskeard

Leaving Liskeard behind, there’s the whole of Cornwall to explore: Looe, Polperro and the fabulous coast with its pretty harbours and beaches, Bodmin Moor, Truro and Launceston or just across the bridge to Plymouth.

Where to shop

Liskeard town centre has a surprisingly large range of small independent shops for its size. You can find everything from gifts and jewellery to cycles and school wear to fresh fish and fresh local produce. Philip Warren at Oughs sells beef reared on grass near Bodmin Moor. Whether you need local fruit and vegetables, spring water from the moors, local honey, apple juice or dairy products, you’re guaranteed a warm welcome from all the town traders.

The town is well served with banks including HSBC, Nat West and Lloyds. There is a Boots the Chemist as well as an Argos, Pets at Home, Homebase and Morrisons, which are within easy walking distance of Liskerrett Vale.

The vast emporium of Trago Mills is less than five miles away. It has over 1,000 car parking spaces, special early bird breakfasts and boasts over 80,000 products in 38 departments.

Practicalities

Liskeard School and Community College takes students from 11-18 years and has around 1300 pupils.

There are a number of primary, infant and junior schools plus Liskerrett Community Centre runs an OfSTEAD registered pre-school every weekday.

Liskeard has a community hospital, there is a library and the railway station links in to the fast Intercity routes. Major trunk roads connect to Plymouth, Truro and Launceston.
